Overview
The MP2307 (commonly packaged as MP2307DN in SOIC-8 with exposed thermal pad) is a monolithic synchronous step-down (buck) switching regulator manufactured by Monolithic Power Systems (MPS). Famous for driving ultra-tiny buck converter modules such as the Mini360 and KIS-3R33S, it integrates both high-side () and low-side () power MOSFET switches on-chip.
By replacing the external freewheeling Schottky diode with an integrated low-side synchronous MOSFET switch, the MP2307 achieves efficiency levels up to , drastically reducing thermal dissipation and component count.

Common mistakes
- Exceeding the 23V input limit: The MP2307 absolute maximum input voltage is ( recommended operational). Using it on industrial or solar rails will cause destructive overvoltage breakdown.
- Floating the EN pin: Leaving the enable pin unconnected can result in erratic startup. Tie
ENdirectly toINfor automatic power-on operation.
Notes
- Synchronous vs Non-Synchronous Buck: The MP2307 contains an integrated low-side MOSFET switch so no external diode is required, yielding higher efficiency than non-synchronous regulators like LM2596.
